Office Furniture Project for a Fruit and Vegetable Market Client

Case Study

Office Furniture Project for a Fruit and Vegetable Market Client

A trading company based in the Fruit and Vegetable Market needed furniture for an existing office renovation. The brief was practical: dark finishes that hide dust, correct usable desk space, and a furniture mix that kept staff areas within budget without weakening the manager and meeting zones.

Project Brief

The office was being renovated inside a demanding trading environment, so the customer did not want light-colored furniture that would show dust quickly. The same room also needed to support different functions, including ordinary staff workstations, finance cubicles, a manager desk, meeting furniture, and visitor seating.

The strongest buying signals were durability, dark colors, usable desk space, and keeping the employee-area budget under control while still making the manager and meeting areas look more substantial.

What Needed Solving

Dust and trafficDark black, brown, and grey finishes were safer than pale colors
Desk sizingThe client needed about 160cm of usable desktop, not just a 160cm total desk
Budget allocationHigher-spec manager and meeting areas, cost-controlled staff seating
Future add-onsSofa sizing and bulk training chairs kept as follow-up items

Sales Recommendation

Instead of pushing lighter finishes, Al Asala narrowed the recommendation to darker products that made sense for a market-based trading office. The DB brown workstation range helped keep staff and finance zones visually consistent, while the black meeting and executive furniture gave the client a more formal front-facing setup.

One important correction was desk size. A nominal 160cm desk with a side cabinet can leave only around 140cm of clear desktop. Recommending a larger 180cm option protected the customer’s actual working space, because the side cabinet still needed to be included in the total footprint.

Products Used in This Project

The final mix balanced durability and budget: darker desk finishes for the market environment, comfortable executive seating where it mattered most, and practical workstation furniture for staff and finance areas.

Project Outcome

The completed order covered the core desk and seating requirements for the renovated office. More importantly, the customer avoided two common procurement mistakes: choosing a desk that looked correct on paper but had too little usable work surface, and selecting chair options that did not match the comfort and quality needed for daily use.

The client also kept additional requirements open for sofa sizing and a larger training-chair quantity, with final quantities planned after the installed furniture made the remaining space easier to measure.
